Eric Green is executive vice president, Head of Tax, for Fidelity Investments, a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing and other financial products and services to more than 25 million individuals, institutions and financial intermediaries.
In this role, Mr. Green leads and manages the firm’s global tax function. Partnering actively with all Fidelity’s business units, he is responsible for the tax department inclusive of: Tax Advisory Services; Income Tax Compliance; and Indirect and Ad Valorem Tax Compliance. Mr. Green joined Fidelity in April 2015.
Prior to joining the company, Mr. Green served as vice president and Chief Tax Officer for Covidien PLC, from 2007 to 2015. In this role, he built a 70-member organization from the ground up, and was responsible for leading Covidien’s Global Tax Organization, including the design and implementation of global tax policies, processes, and strategies, as well as tax planning, compliance/reporting, audits, and accounting for income taxes.
Mr. Green’s prior experience also includes tenures as vice president of Tax Planning and Analysis for Tyco International, Ltd. (2003 to 2007); director of Entity Tax Matters for Accenture PLC (1998 to 2003); tax counsel for AT&T and Lucent Technologies (1993-1998); and senior tax manager for Arthur Andersen (1985-1993).
Mr. Green received a bachelor of science degree in international affairs from Georgetown University, and holds juris doctor and LL.M in taxation degrees from Boston University Law School.
