Editorial: Cutting Massachusetts sales tax will hurt, not help

The Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation released a report last week outlining what it believes will be the devastating effects of cutting the sales tax. The foundation predicts the $2.5 billion revenue shortfall will result in the loss of thousands of state and municipal jobs. It will also hurt the state's bond rating and result in hikes in tuitions and fees at state colleges and universities.
