The head of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation told a western Massachusetts business group that the state Legislature should pass a bill that would remove health plans from negotiations between municipalities and unions, the Berkshire Eagle reports. Michael Widmer told a Chamber of Commerce breakfast in Pittsfield that taking small details of health coverage off the table would let cities and towns take steps necessary to control costs, the paper says.
