One of the hallmarks of MTF has been to provide comprehensive, accurate
and timely facts and figures to our members, public officials, opinion
leaders and the media. The Foundation has received both state and national
acclaim for its work analyzing the costs and benefits of living, working
and doing business in Massachusetts. While much of this information is
included in the major reports and other
publications available on this site, the detailed statistics that are
the backbone of the published findings are available from MTF by request.
As the premier independent watchdog of state and local finances, MTF
collects and analyzes a wide variety of data focusing on Massachusetts
revenues and spending. In a testament to our credibility, the Foundation
has for more than a decade prepared the non-government forecast of
state tax revenue most frequently used in developing the annual state budget.
In addition to our efforts to monitor state government spending, MTF
also keeps a close eye on the Massachusetts economy at large. This effort
is bolstered by a state-of-the-art econometric model used to forecast employment
trends, unemployment, personal income and other key economic
indicators for the state.
If you are unable to find the information you need on this site, please call or e-mail
the Foundation. Due to time constraints, requests from our members, public officials, and the media will
take precedence over others. Click on the economic
and fiscal links for a more detailed look
at the kinds of information MTF has to offer.
