Welcome to the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation. We are a nationally
recognized, independent, non-partisan organization focusing on state spending
and tax policies and the Massachusetts economy. Our mission is to provide
accurate, unbiased research with balanced, thoughtful recommendations that
strengthen the state's finances and economy in order to foster the long-term
well being of the Commonwealth. Over the course of seven decades the Foundation
has played an instrumental role in achieving major reforms and promoting
sound public policy in state government. Our unique credibility has allowed
the Foundation to have a significant impact on a wide range of issues-from
education financing, business costs and health care to tax competitiveness,
capital investments and the stability of state finances.
This website is intended to expand the accessibility of our work. This
section includes a more detailed description of who
we are, the services that we provide and the people behind the organization
-- our Executive Committee, Board
of Trustees, Program Committee,
and staff. Other areas of the site offer links
to our research and publications,
which can be read or ordered from the site, access to a wealth of facts
and figures available at MTF, and information about becoming
a member of the Foundation. We also welcome your comments
and suggestions about both this website and MTF in general.
MTF is a member of the Governmental Research Association, the
